Hello loves! Welcome to Mess on my Vanity and the first official blog post.
As we brave these dare I say *final* days of Winter-supposed-to-be-Spring, I think we can all agree that it’s time to ditch the bulky jackets.
Here in Nova Scotia we really don’t know if it’s going to snow or hail in the middle of a (seemingly) Sunny day. This has me reaching for every cotton turtleneck in my closet; I love them. But not on their own.
I always say the best way to elevate a basic outfit is to layer. Not only is it practical, it always looks great and requires little-to-no effort!
Here are FIVE easy ways to transform one pair of jeans + one turtleneck into five completely different looks
Look #1:
The bomber jacket
This look is perfect for the effortlessly chic, or simply your everyday outfit.

LOOK #2:
THE MOTO VEST
You can’t go wrong with this edgy getup.

LOOK #3:
THE DISTRESSED, OVERSIZED DENIM JACKET
This is a trend that I may never tire of. Seriously – give me all the boyfriend style denim jackets.

LOOK #4:
LONG SLEEVELESS/BLAZER VEST
A classic layer to play up your turtleneck for the office.

LOOK #5:
THE PONCHO
This sophisticated 2-way stole is sure to draw attention in the classiest way possible. I love the emphasis on the neck and sleeves.
Exact 2-way stole is on sale for $19.90 HERE
I hope you enjoyed these five looks and get to rock one or two before the Spring weather makes its debut.
Which outfit do you prefer? My personal favourites are the denim jacket and poncho looks.

Where are your shoes from?!
Hey! They are actually Clark’s from Little Burgundy two Winters ago. I was lucky enough to score them on their boxing day sale but I bet they still have a similar style. They are extremely comfortable and go with nearly any outfit! Let me know if you want me to help you source them; I could look into the name for you.
